Richard J. “Tug” Worst established Worst & Associates, PC in 2021 after founding and giving more than 15 years to the firm f/k/a Worst, Fitzgerald & Stover, PLLC. Tug decided it was time to simplify and improve his practice by dedicating less time to the complexities of a larger firm, and more time to his clients and the quality of the legal services he offers them.  This approach has been well received by the clients of Worst & Associates, with the added benefit of improving Tug's work/life balance.  In the words of Jimmy Buffett, Tug's favorite artist, "changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes..."

Tug was born in Columbus, Ohio. In 1972 he moved with his parents and brother to Twin Falls where he was raised and attended school, proudly graduating from Twin Falls High School in 1984.  After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Denison University in Granville, Ohio and a Juris Doctorate from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, Tug returned to Twin Falls to start a family and a law practice.  Despite spending most of his life in Idaho, Tug remains a devout fan of THE Ohio State Buckeyes.

Tug's law practice is broadly dedicated to civil litigation and business transactions. Within those areas Tug emphasizes personal injury and death claims, commercial litigation, employment litigation, and a broad array of commercial transactions including contracts, business formation, and real estate. He has successfully prosecuted, defended, resolved and tried cases, big and small, throughout southern Idaho.

Tug serves on the Board of Directors for Hospice Visions. He previously served the United Way, Twin Falls Public Library Foundation, St. Luke’s Magic Valley Regional Medical Center Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club of Magic Valley, and various other charitable organizations. He has been a member of the Theron W. Ward Chapter of the American Inns of Court since 1993 and he is a member of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association.

Tug enjoys traveling, fly fishing, sailing, and mountain biking with his wife Kari, their two adult children, Madison and Ben, plus two wire-haired pointing Griffons, Wayne and Garth.
